But, the 2018 Kia Rio offers all that and much more at a budget-friendly price, according to Edmunds Reviews Editor Cameron Rogers who singles out the Kia Rio as one of the best, cost-efficient models available in the compact and subcompact category today.

“The interior materials are nicer than those in rivals, and the cabin is quiet around town. The Rio also feels pretty zippy when you’re driving around turns,” Rogers reports.
The 2018 Kia Rio is available at three trims levels: LX, S, and EX. Each trim is powered by a 130-horsepower-rated 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine. The LX trim features a six-speed manual transmission while the S and EX trims are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic®.

Standard on the base trim is a 5-inch touch screen complete with AM/FM/MP3/SiriusXM® audio system and four speakers. Move up to the S trim to earn advanced technology features such as Bluetooth® wireless technology with steering-wheel-mounted controls, two USB charging ports, Siri® Eyes Free, and six speakers with front tweeters. The S trim also offers remote keyless entry with alarm and trunk opener and cruise control.
The well-appointed interior of the EX trim features a tilt and telescopic steering column, embossed tricot cloth seat trim, dual illuminated visor vanity mirrors, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob. Infotainment options are easily viewed and manipulated through the UVO system’s 7-inch touch screen that’s equipped with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. The EX trim also features advanced driver assist technologies of Autonomous Emergency Braking and a Forward Collision Warning System.
