Buick December Sales: Ringing in the New Year with Gains Across the Board
Buick closed 2014 with a monster month, adding 20,357 sales to its full-year total. The 20,357 vehicle figure marks a 32.4% year-over-year increase and Buick’s fourth-best month for the entire year.
Three models in the Buick lineup posted double-digit year-over-year gains—Enclave, Encore, and LaCrosse. The Enclave and Encore both posted best-ever sales months, with the former moving 7,393 units for a 53.4% increase and the latter moving 3,102 units for a 12.4% increase. The LaCrosse posted the biggest increase for the month, going from 3,123 sales in 2013 to 5,034 sales in 2014 for a 61.2% year-over-year gain.
The LaCrosse and Enclave’s sales increases were the largest year-over-year gains either vehicle has ever seen, spurred on by the ever-increasing influence of the small and large crossover segments. Buick will look toward the Envision small crossover to give its brand a crossover triple threat when it debuts sometime this year.
The Regal added in sales of 1,811 vehicles (a 3.7% gain), and the Verano accounted for 3,017 vehicles (a 3.0% gain).
The final month of 2014 was enough to push Buick to a full-year-over-year increase of 11.4%, with sales totaling 228,963 units in the US.
