Chevrolet Middle East Donates 18,000 Meals for Ramadan
In the spirit of Ramadan, Chevrolet Middle East used the help of its fans on the social media stratosphere to donate 18,000 meals to laborers in Saudia Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar.
Chevy Middle East drummed up support by pledging meals for every use of the #chevycares hashtag. Stands were also set up in shopping malls throughout the region, allowing passersby to pledge a meal on behalf of Chevrolet by sharing the importance of Ramadan. Individuals would have their photos taken with a placard expressing their feelings on the holiday, and the photo would then be pasted onto a 2015 Chevy Tahoe. By the conclusion of the event, the Tahoes were all nearly totally covered with photographs.
Chevrolet Middle East held six separate donation events in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Doha throughout July. Over those six events, 3,000 meals were donated.
“Chevrolet cares not only about its customers but about its communities,” said Markus Leithe, GM’s new Managing Director Middle East Commercial Operations.
“Having been in the Middle East for nearly 100 years, Chevrolet understands the importance of Ramadan as a special time to reflect and to give. And we want to give: to our customers with great offers and to the community in general. That’s why we wanted to get involved,” he said.
