The stats

The latest stats indicate that there are eight public chargers in China for every one charger in the U.S. This isn’t totally surprising considering that China currently lays claim to the biggest market for EVs on the international level. If BloombergNEF forecasts prove true, China’s total number of EV’s will reach 162 million by as early as 2040.

Jing Kai, deputy head of the Beijing unit at Qingdao TGOOD Electric Co., articulates the industry’s goal for making charging stations more accessible to the average Chinese person. “The goal is to help EV users charge their cars wherever they go, making it as easy as buying a bottle of water.”

China’s solid infrastructure will help it achieve its variety of green-energy goals that it has in mind for the future. For starters, President XI Jinping wants to build at least 20 EV towns to establish the country as a manufacturing powerhouse by 2025. Government officials are also considering approving a development plan that would set more ambitious goals for the industry through 2035. One of the plan’s objectives is to increase the number of public and private chargers in the country.
