Elvis Presley’s Coupe De Ville Sells at Auction
At the beginning of last month, we reported that Elvis Presley’s Coupe De Ville (his 1967 Cadillac Coupe De Ville “honeymoon car,” to be precise) would be heading to the 2014 Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction at the end of the month. The Caddy officially sold at the auction for a grand total of $88,000 on September 25th.
The Coupe De Ville, which Elvis had driven on his honeymoon with Priscilla, was previously on display in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, at The Elvis Museum. A V8, paired to a three-speed transmission, powers this classic Caddy; the mint condition Coupe De Ville also sports a black leather interior.
Reportedly, the Coupe De Ville was a personal favorite of the King and has more documentation than any other Cadillac owned by Elvis. The car was even mentioned in Hurry Home, Elvis, a book that looks at Elvis’ time in Memphis back in the 1960s.
