Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US May Sales Climb 4%
Chrysler 200 sales shot up 537%
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is reporting that its US sales for May 2015 increased by 4% over May of last year. Last month, the automaker moved a total of 202,227 units in the United States, compared to 194,421 in May of last year.
Specifically, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram all experienced year-over-year sales gains. Of those three, Chrysler saw the biggest jump, at 32%. With another winning month under its belt, FCA just hit 62 straight months of year-over-year sales gains.
In total, seven models from the FCA US lineup had record-breaking Mays. In fact, the 2015 Chrysler 200 had its best month ever. Sales were up—you may want to sit down for this—a miraculous 537%. Similarly, the Jeep Cherokee, the Jeep Wrangler, and the Dodge Challenger had their best sales months on record as well. The other three record-breakers—the Dodge Dart, the Jeep Patriot, and the Ram ProMaster—experienced their best May sales ever.
“Our Jeep brand continues to set records with its best monthly sales ever in May, helping us to achieve our 62nd-consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases,” remarked Reid Bigland, Head of US Sales. “Despite one less industry selling day this May versus a year ago, we posted a 4 percent sales gain and exceeded the 200,000-unit threshold for the first time since March 2007.”
