[PHOTOS] Hyundai Teases All-New 2020 Sonata
The new 2020 Hyundai Sonata has been redesigned as a sporty four-door coupe with striking new LED lighting touches and athletic curves.
Hyundai recently unveiled the first photos of the eighth-generation midsize car. It boasts a much sleeker, streamlined look than the previous generation, which debuted in 2014.
According to Hyundai, the new Sonata was inspired by the Le Fil Rouge concept car and its Sensuous Sportiness design philosophy, which harmonizes proportion, architecture, technology, and styling into one unified look.

Highlights of the new design include a lower, wider stance with a longer wheelbase; a curving, coupe-like rear and roofline; widened taillamps; a long, layered hood; and integrated Digital Pulse Cascading Grille. Chrome lines run from the windows to the hood and merge with the dramatically illuminated LED Daytime Running Lights, which feature cutting-edge new hidden lighting lamps to complete the design.
The interior design features a floating instrument panel and armrests inspired by Stealth aircraft design and trimmed with satin chrome accents. Equipped with capacitive touch buttons, the gauge cluster and infotainment display screens are integrated in a seamless S-curved pattern to give the dash a cleaner, less distracting look. The chrome-accented steering wheel is shaped like an aircraft yoke. Shift-by-wire controls allow for more storage space. Lighter seating fabrics and ambient mood lamps for the dashboard and doors complete the cabin’s lighter, airier ambience.
