The Ranger Black Appearance Package starts deliveries this summer and follows in the tread marks of its fellow appearance packages — Sport and Chrome.

As you recall, the Sport Appearance Package adds gray accents, while the Chrome Appearance Package adds its own flair to latest pickup truck sensation from Ford.

Ford has noticed that since the start of strong Ranger sales in January, about 70 percent of its units have driven off dealership lots in custom appearance packages. So Ford is upping the ante.

Its new Black Appearance Package entails that the elements of the exterior will showcase black accents, including a black grille, side mirrors, fender vents, running boards and a still plate.

The biggest standout will be its black 18-inch wheels with black center caps, and its bed will feature a black, spray-in bedliner.

According to Ford, you can purchase the Black package with any paint color on the Ranger, but it will cost you. While the Sport package and Chrome package go for $895 and $795 respectively, you will be forking out $1,995 for the Black. However, the Black edition does add a spray-in bedliner and running boards, which do not come with the price tag of the other two packages.
