When it comes to trustworthy publications, Good Housekeeping is pretty important in American life. Manufacturers in every sector are always looking for a mention or coveted stamp of approval from the editors to prove their legitimacy, and car companies are no exception. The latest vehicle to get some love from Good Housekeeping is the 2019 Nissan Kicks subcompact SUV.

While the Good Housekeeping Institute, the bureau responsible for reviews, is full of experts in many household goods, it acknowledged that it needed some help to understand cars. It collaborated with Car and Driver to test 50 new vehicles for 2019, and picked the favorites in a number of categories for the “Best New Cars of 2019” designation. The 2019 Nissan Kicks rolled away from the competition as the publication’s preferred subcompact crossover, a very crowded segment.

According to the test drivers, cars in the running for the prizes were evaluated in the areas of handling, design, technology, value, and safety. The editors appreciated many things about the 2019 Nissan Kicks, but their favorite feature was its value. In the “Lab Lowdown” they noted that the price of the Kicks surprised them, considering its great ride, standard technology, and advanced available features.

The 2019 Nissan Kicks comes in three trim levels with a starting MSRP of just $18,640 at time of publication. The model that the Good Housekeeping Institute tested for the magazine had a MSRP of $23,330.

The small-yet-mighty Nissan Kicks is available now on dealership lots to impress you on a test drive, just as it wowed the staff of Good Housekeeping.
