Hyundai Motor America notched another month of growing sales in November, recording a 1 percent increase over the same period in 2017.
Overall, Hyundai sold 57,499 vehicles last month, compared with 57,211 for November 2017.
With its November gains, Hyundai has enjoyed sales increases in six of the last seven months. For the fourth month in a row, SUV sales rose, too — this time by 17 percent.
“Hyundai’s product portfolio makeover of 10 all-new or redesigned models in 2018 are attracting consumers and resulting in sales growth in an industry we expect to be down slightly for the month,” said John Cook, the director of sales operations for Hyundai Motor America.

Illustrating the surging popularity of SUVs and crossovers, these vehicles made up 49 percent of Hyundai’s retail sales for November. Last November, SUVs and crossovers made up just 38 percent of Hyundai’s retail sales.
With this sales mix in mind, it’s no surprise that Hyundai’s November increase was led by the Tucson. The compact crossover sold 11,908 units for a 3 percent increase over November 2017 — and set a sales record for the 21st straight month.
Three other Hyundai vehicles saw increases as well. The Sonata sedan sold 8,173 units for a gain of 2 percent. The Veloster hatchback sold 853 units for a gain of 9 percent. The Ioniq sedan sold 1,074 units for a gain of 12 percent.
The new Kona wasn’t on sale this time last year, but it had a great November, too — with 5,976 units sold, the crossover enjoyed its best month since coming out in February.
