Jeep to Revive Grand Wagoneer, Nix Patriot and Compass, Update Wrangler
Thank you, Twitter.
There’s so much news coming out of Jeep right now that we almost don’t know how to process it. And, of course, “coming out of Jeep” is not all together true, as the automaker has done nothing more than alert the media to the fact that there is a private business plan meeting going on right now with “members of the financial community, dealers, suppliers, labor representatives, and members of the media,” (though, of course, not us). Thankfully, these members have all mastered the art of smart phones and have kept us in the know via live tweets.
The biggest announcement is probably that Jeep will be nixing both the Patriot and the Compass in 2016 and instead adding a C-segment SUV in the same year. The same tweet also reported the Grand Wagoneer will be revived in 2018.
To recap: @Jeep cuts Patriot and Compass in 2016; adds C-segment SUV that year. Adds E-segment Grand Wagoneer in 2018. #FCA5

Another kind tweeter informed us that the classic Wrangler will get an overhaul for the 2017 model year.
Here ya go, Jeep junkies: Fiat Chrysler just confirmed a new-generation Wrangler coming in 2017. .@edmunds — Bill Visnic (@BillVisnic) May 6, 2014
So we’ve got the juice but none of the details to back it up. Stick around until we can get more official word out of Jeep on all the model news.
