LEGO Speed Champions Adds 1968 Ford Mustang, M-Sport Ford Fiesta WRC
Two things that are objectively good: LEGO and the Ford Mustang. Okay, sure, you could probably think of a couple of circumstances where either is not particularly great—the former when it is laying in the path of your bare foot on a step while going downstairs late at night for a glass of water, and the latter when peeling out of pretty much any Cars and Coffee meet-up—but they’re great 99% of the time and likely to be even better when combined.
Case in point: the 1968 Ford Mustang joining the LEGO Speed Champions lineup, which hit toy store shelves this month. This green Mustang, similar in color to a certain legendary 1968 Ford Mustang, will be offered in a 183-piece kit that includes a driver figure and a Ford timing board in addition to graphic stickers and a removable windshield.

“The new Ford Mustang LEGO Speed Champions set gives parents and children the chance to share their passions—generations of fans have grown up building LEGO sets and spending time together behind the wheel,” said Myra Lind, LEGO Speed Champions marketing manager. “This partnership of iconic brands allows kids of all ages to enjoy the latest products from two great companies.”
As if that wasn’t enough, Ford and LEGO also teamed up to create a 203-piece LEGO Speed Champions kit for the M-Sport Ford Fiesta WRC. The M-Sport Fiesta features two interchangeable hoods, as well as a driver figure and graphics stickers.
“With two World Rally Championship titles and five rally victories in 2017, it’s hard to think of a more worthy addition to the LEGO Speed Champions range than the M-Sport Ford Fiesta WRC car,” said Mark Rushbrook, Ford global director of Motorsport. “The LEGO Speed Champions series is a fun way to celebrate the success of Ford cars in motorsport. We hope it will inspire future generations of car designers, engineers and rally drivers.”
Both the 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback and Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC are available at the LEGO Shop for $14.99. They join other Ford vehicles in the LEGO Speed Champions lineup, including the 2016 Ford GT, 1966 Ford GT40, Ford F-150 Raptor, Ford Model A Hot Rod, and Ford Mustang GT.
