2016 Lincoln MKX
Lincoln’s July sales in the United States totaled 9,098 vehicles, down 4.6% from the 9,536 vehicles delivered in July 2015. The year-over-year drop in sales was brought about in no small part by a drop in sales for the MKS, which is soon to be phased out for the upcoming 2017 Continental. Lincoln’s retail sales were up 2% overall.
Sales of the Lincoln MKZ were up 12.3% at 2,968 units, leading the brand from a volume perspective. To date, sales of the MKZ are down 1.3% at 17,661 units, but that is likely to be reversed as sales of the new-look, next-gen model begin ramping up.

MKS sales were down 42.5% at a total of 313 units. MKS sales to-date total 3,758 units, down 14.1% from the tally through July 2015. With the release of the Continental looming, it is not improbable that Lincoln would offset that difference in sales in as little as a couple of months.
Sales of the MKZ were strong enough to bring Lincoln car sales to a 3% year-over-year gain for the month at a total of 3,281 units delivered.
Lincoln SUVs were down 8.4% in July with every model except for the brand-new MKX taking a year-over-year loss. MKX sales totaled 2,656 units, up 5.4% year-over-year. Through July, sales of the MKX are up 57.5% at 17,745 units compared to 11,268 through the first seven months of 2015.
Sales of the MKC were down 12.9% at 2,138 units, but the crossover remains 3.4% ahead of its pace from last year. Sales of the Navigator were down slightly at 764 units.
Through July, Lincoln sales in the United States total 62,395 units, up 10.1%.
