Mercedes September Sales Mark Record Month, Quarter
Another month, another quarter, and another successful showing from Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz September sales totaled 27,315 units between the Mercedes, Sprinter, and smart brands, marking the best September in company history.
Furthermore, the strong September showing brought year-to-date totals to 233,211 units, an 8.4% increase and good enough for yet another record quarter.
“With three record sales quarters under our belt, we’re racing toward another banner year in step with the strong momentum of the market,” said Stephen Cannon, president and CEO of MBUSA. “From gateway models like our all-new GLA compact SUV to the new flagship S-Class Coupe, the breadth of our product portfolio will keep us at the top of our game.”
As per usual, the Mercedes-Benz brand was led by the C-, E-, and M-Class model lineups. These models racked up respective sales of 6,285 units, 4,883 units, and 3,460 units.
The CLS-Class four-door coupe also came through with a 21.4% year-over-year sales increase. The S-Class moved 1,909 units in September, good for a massive 393.3% increase.
Mercedes-Benz branded vehicles totaled 30,271 units in September, up 10.2%
Mercedes-AMG model sales totaled 717, good for a 6.2% year-over-year increase. To date, sales of the AMG lineup are up 56.7%. BlueTEC diesel vehicles accounted for 754 sales, and have added in 11,017 deliveries through the first three quarters.
Certified Pre-Owned vehicle sales were up 30.1% with 8,647 deliveries.
Sprinter was up 2.6% with sales of 2,208 vans, and smart tacked on 748 sales for a 19.7% year-over-year increase.
