Mitsubishi Sales in July Jump 21.4 Percent
Mitsubishi sold 6,349 units in July, good enough for a 21.4 percent year-over-year increase and the automaker’s best July sales figure in three years. Mitsubishi sales now total 46,021 units to date, good for a 28.9 percent sales increase over the first seven months of July 2013.
“Our year-to-date sales are up by nearly 29 percent over the same period from last year thanks to strong sales of our core models,” said Don Swearingen, MMNA Executive Vice President of Sales. “This sustained sales momentum is a good indicator for the brand as we begin to launch our 2015 models.”
Not the boldest of proclamations, but it’s certainly an accurate statement.
Mitsubishi July sales were led, as so many other months have been, by the Outlander Sport. Mitsubishi shipped 2,610 Outlander Sports, up nearly 20 percent from July 2013 and good enough for the model’s best July performance since its launch in 2010.
The Mirage sold 1,593 units, which counts for the second-best sales month since the model launched back in September. The Mirage was recently named the most affordable new car on the market by Cars.com.
The Outlander was down with 951 units for the month, but it remains ahead of its 2013 pace by 25.4 percent.
