TAWA Names 2015 Lincoln MKC Crossover Utility Vehicle of Texas
Lincoln’s quest to rebuild its brand from the bottom up has been bolstered by the early success of the 2015 MKC premium utility. Members of the prestigious Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) took notice, naming the 2015 Lincoln MKC Crossover Utility Vehicle of Texas and Luxury Crossover Vehicle of Texas at the 2014 TAWA Truck Rodeo.

“We are delighted that the Texas Auto Writers Association recognized the all-new 2015 Lincoln MKC as the best in two categories among an outstanding group of competitors,” said Kumar Galhotra, president of Lincoln. “In particular, to be named Crossover Utility Vehicle of Texas is a tremendous honor.”
Sales of the MKC have been red-hot, totaling 6,418 sales since hitting the market in late May. A great deal of this can be contributed to the success of a marketing campaign that features Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey.

“These awards for MKC, following momentum from the all-new MKZ as the start of this latest chapter for Lincoln, demonstrate our plan is on the right track,” said Galhotra. “We’re encouraged that our latest vehicle has been recognized so soon after its debut at such an important and influential event. This great news, coupled with the recent arrival of the dramatically refreshed 2015 Lincoln Navigator, show Lincoln’s focus on delivering outstanding vehicles for the luxury customer.”
The MKC is the second vehicle in Lincoln’s planned rollout of four new models by 2016. Rumors that emerged last week suggested the next model on the docket for the brand could be a RWD crossover.
