The MyStreetCred app monitors driving habits and provides drivers with a report card based on factors such as fuel efficiency and safety.

“We’re thrilled to see the innovation and ideas from the teams that participated in this year’s Developer Conference,” said Scott Burnell, global lead, partner management, Ford developer program. “MyStreetCred stood out because of its innovative use of the new SYNC AppLink developer tools that leverage vehicle information to create dynamic apps in the car.”

MyStreetCred was developed by Rockfish, a team consisting of developers Kyle Alderman, Lauren Pels, Jarrod Ramsey, and Warner Skoch. The app was designed with the intention of helping users break bad driving habits and become safer and more fuel efficient on the road, and the team says that they plan to continue to develop the app over time while considering additional applications such as parental monitoring and providing insurance benefits to drivers.

Because of their win, the Rockfish team will join Ford at the 2016 International CES in Las Vegas. Ford is also hosting an AppLink Developer Challenge in Tel Aviv on October 11-12.
