New UK Kia Optima Launches with £21,495 Price Tag
It can be difficult to find a vehicle in the automotive industry that offers plenty of technology and luxurious features for an affordable price—unless you’re looking to buy the 2016 Kia Optima. While the Optima has already arrived on American soil and is selling quite well, the United Kingdom has only just received their first shipment. Now this terrific sedan is available for our friends across the pond for the low price of £21,495.
In the UK market, the 2016 Optima is offered in three trim levels—2, 3, and 4. Last year’s base trim (1) was dropped from the lineup, meaning consumers get a lot more bang for their buck when they choose the 2016 Kia Optima. Kia is also planning on offering the GT-Line and Optima GT in 2016 to UK consumers only, which means a huge boost in the Optima’s performance options.
For the entry level model, standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual automatic air conditioning, heated folding side mirrors, and a six-speaker audio system. As if that wasn’t enough, the base trim even offers Bluetooth compatibility, a 7.0-inch satellite navigation system, and a rearview camera.
You can only image what the two premium-level trims offer if those are the UK Optima’s standard features. The 3 adds an 8.0-inch navigation screen and a Harman Kardon sound system, among other features, while the 4 offers a slew of driver assistance programs like the 360-degree Around View Monitor and Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Each of the UK Kia Optima models come with a variety of transmission options, though all of them come with a 1.7-liter engine that puts out 137 horsepower.
