The Nissan Murano was named the most appealing vehicle in the Midsize SUV category, and the Nissan Altima was king in the Midsize Car segment. The Nissan Rogue made a lot of progress in the Compact CUV category, boasting a 46-point improvement over its performance last year. The Nissan Maxima and Titan also did respectably in their categories, with the Titan winning second place in the Large Light Duty Pickup segment. Overall, Nissan as a brand rose 27 points over its 2016 results, moving the automaker well above the industry average score for both premium and non-premium brands.
“The APEAL Study results reaffirm the efforts of the entire Nissan brand team,” said Christian Meunier, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing and Operations, Nissan North America, Inc. and Chairman, Nissan Canada. “We constantly strive to delight our customers, and it is rewarding to see the accolades for Murano, Altima, TITAN, Maxima and especially the Rogue.”

The APEAL study is in its 22nd year in 2017. It asks purchasers and lessees of new vehicles to evaluate their new cars in 77 attributes to give the automaker a score on a scale of 1,000 points. The Nissan Altima scored an 826, two points ahead of second place, and the Murano scored 837, a whopping 8 points ahead of second place. If you are considering buying a new car, take J.D.
