When Andy Palmer was head honcho at Nissan before he left to work for Aston Martin, production of the otherworldly Nissan BladeGlider had been on the table after it was revealed at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. Well, Philippe Klein is the chief planning officer now, and he recently told Autocar that “It is still on the table, but at the end of the day it has to make sense to the company.”
That sounds a lot like Nissan is putting it on the back burner for now, a fate all to familiar with the Nissan IDx concept, which there was a very strong response to.

The Nissan BladeGlider was intended to be a small, three-seat electric sports car priced under or around the Nissan Z. With its front wheels so close together (just 1 meter) compared to the rear, it would be capable of some pretty extreme handling unlike any other sports car on the road.
Seeing the BladeGlider all the way through to production would take some serious commitment from Nissan considering the risk of trying to market such a unique vehicle in an uncertain market. For now, we’ll have to settle with the Deltawing race car to get our triangle-shaped automobile fix.
