Nissan Launching 45th Anniversary GT-R in Japan Next Month
Nissan has finally unleashed the unbridled power of the 2015 GT-R, and with it, the automaker is offering a special limited edition model to celebrate the nameplate’s 45th anniversary.
Sounds great, right? Well, here’s the bad news: the 45th Anniversary GT-R is only being sold in Japan. Further, Nissan is only making 45 examples, meaning they’d be sold out before you could book yourself a ticket and work out all the logistics on how to maintain citizenship in two different countries.
Still, it’s nice to look at. The 45th Anniversary GT-R is offered in Silica Brass paint, which is the same color in which the Skyline GT-R M-Spec was offered when the R34 Type launched back in 2001. It will build upon the Premium Edition trim, adding an exclusive emblem on the center cluster and an exclusive model plate number in the engine compartment.
Sales begin in Japan next month, with an asking price of 10,787,040 JPY. On the plus side, if you are a statesider and you manage to get one using converted US dollars, the decreasing value of the Yen means that you’re paying about $2,000 less than what the price was when it was originally announced back in November.
