Ford is hard at work in its endeavor to expand its new ST-Line family, announcing that the new Kuga ST-Line will join the previously announced Fiesta ST-Line, Focus ST-Line, and Mondeo ST-Line. Available later this year, the Kuga ST-Line will feature tweaked aesthetics inspired by Ford Performance models, sport-tuned driving feel, and an offering of more powerful EcoBoost engines.
“With our sporty Kuga ST-Line joining the new Kuga—shown for the first time earlier this year at the 2016 Mobile World Congress—and our upscale Ford Kuga Vignale, Ford will offer a Kuga model to suit every lifestyle,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales, & Service, Ford of Europe. “We predict sales of 200,000 Ford Kuga, EcoSport, and Edge SUVs in Europe this year—up by 200% from 2013.”
According to Ford, the new Kuga ST-Line will feature a high-gloss Ebony Black upper grille, lower front grille with honeycomb design, and sports mesh finish on fog lamp bezels; body-color front skid plate, side skirts, mirror caps, door handles, door cladding, wheel arches, and rear roof spoiler; high-gloss Ebony Back rear skid plate; black roof rails; choice of 18-inch high-gloss black alloy wheels or 19-inch Ebony Black alloy wheels; black beltline; tinted front and rear lights; and privacy glass.
On the inside, the Kuga ST-Line gets sport seats in partial leather with contrast stitching, contrast stitching for the shifter and steering wheel, black headliner, and a two-layer Deep Space metallic-effect paint for the center console.
Performance upgrades include a 10 mm lower ride height, thicker anti-roll bars, stiffer suspension bushes, and recalibrated spring and damper rates and Electric Power Assisted Steering system.
The Kuga ST-Line will be offered with engines including the 1.5-liter TDCi diesel engine, 2.0-liter TDCi diesel, and 1.5-liter EcoBoost.
