[Photos] Porsche Cayenne S and S Diesel Now Available in Special Platinum Editions
In 2016, the Porsche performance brand set a new sales record by delivering a total of 237,778 vehicles worldwide, but the company doesn’t seem content with those numbers because it just announced new trim levels for its popular Cayenne mid-size SUV.
Fuel For Thought: Do you know that used cars deprecate much slower than all-new models?
The Cayenne S Platinum Edition and Cayenne S Diesel Platinum Edition will be showcased in March at the Geneva Motor Show, but these models will not be making their way to the United States.
These new Platinum Edition models will feature unique content such as 21-inch Sport Edition wheels, tinted rear windows, and bi-xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System. In addition, the inside of these Platinum Edition vehicles will feature eight-way leather sports seats, a Bose surround sound system, and the Porsche Communication Management system with Online Navigation.
While the Platinum Edition models will feature plenty of unique content in the cabin and on the exterior, the same cannot be said for underneath the hood. The Cayenne S Platinum Edition will feature the same 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 as the regular Cayenne S. That six-cylinder engine provides a total of 420 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, which gives the Cayenne S the ability to sprint form 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 161 mph. The Cayenne S Diesel Platinum Edition will also feature the same 4.2-liter turbo-diesel V8 rated at 385 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque.
Even though these new models will not be offered in the United States, Cayenne fans can still get the entry-level Cayenne and S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition models in the US.
