The 2020 Honda Civic Hatchback is now officially on sale at dealerships nationwide with a starting price of $21,650. It’s nearly the last of the Civic models to be updated for 2020, after the Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe were refreshed last year, and with just the Si to go.

The car received some exterior styling tweaks including a body-color crossbar, a revised grille, new wheel designs, and improved LED headlights that should do a better job of lighting up the road at night — something manufacturers are putting a bigger focus on lately because of new IIHS safety requirements.

Inside, the Civic Hatchback now boasts different dash trim to differentiate between each of the trim levels. The Civic Hatchback Sport gets a geometrical pattern while the LX and EX get a painted pattern, and the EX-L and Sport Touring get an exclusive brushed black treatment.

Every model benefits from additional sound insulation as well, and some of the features have been bumped down the trim levels. For instance, the EX now gets 8-way power seats, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard on Sport trims. The Sport trim is probably the most changed, receiving unique seat upholstery, a new embossed dash, and an optional CVT with remote start.

“In addition to being the best-selling car in its class, the Honda Civic has been the retail best-selling passenger car for three straight years,” Honda said in a press release. “Civic is also the number one choice for Millennials, Gen Z, multicultural and first-time buyers, making it an important gateway to the Honda brand for the newest car shoppers in the market today.”
