In August of this year, Subaru announced that it would be implementing a new global architecture, on which all future models will be built. The very first model to demonstrate this architecture will be the 2017 Subaru Impreza, which makes the Subaru Impreza Sedan Concept, which debuted yesterday at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, a very important model to take note of.

The Subaru Impreza Sedan Concept hints at what we can expect from the design of this new platform. Immediately, you can tell that Subaru intends to go in a sportier direction, one that indicates power just from its stance.

The front of the Impreza Sedan Concept still maintains the hexagonal grille. It’s also got what Subaru calls “menacing hawk-eye headlights and [an] aircraft inspired wing.” Continuing to the profiles, you’ll notice that the concept sits on 19-inch wheels to accentuate the wide stance. Also noteworthy are the flared fenders and the bold character lines. The muscular concept includes an integrated rear spoiler and a new trunk lid in the rear. The hawk-eye theme of the headlights continues onto the taillights.

Overall, the Subaru Impreza Sedan Concept stands at just 57.2 inches in height. It measures 179.3 inches in length and 70 inches in width, with a 105.1 inch wheelbase.

If you can’t wait for Subaru’s new design platform—or if you’re a fan of how things are now—you can check out the 2016 Subaru Impreza, which is available nationwide now.
