The EcoDiesel engine and other great features of the 2020 Ram 1500
We can’t talk about the 2020 Ram 1500 without talking about its 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine. The engine has a horsepower of 260 at 3,600 rpm, which is an 8 percent increase from the previous generation.
Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the EcoDiesel V6 is its torque. The vehicle has an astounding 480 lb-ft. of torque at 1,600 rpm, which is 14 percent higher than the previous generation’s torque.
Thanks to the engine, the 2019 Ram 1500 has more power than any other half-ton diesel pickup in America. Adding to its strength, the vehicle also has a towing capacity of up to 12,560 pounds, pushing this light-duty diesel to the head of its pack.
According to Reid Bigland, head of the Ram brand, “The all-new EcoDiesel engine and our eTorque mild-hybrid powertrain technologies deliver the highest available fuel efficiency for our Ram 1500 customers.” This is great news for those wanting to save a few dollars on gas.
Another awesome feature of the 2020 Ram 1500 besides the EcoDiesel engine is Uconnect 4C, which has a 12-inch touch screen and 360-degree camera views. The pickup also has two times the storage space of competing vehicles and a stellar safety system put in place.
