Toyota Camry’s Reign Continues
When it comes to the mid-size car segment, the Toyota Camry is king. With only a month left in 2013, the Camry is looking to score the top spot in the extremely competitive segment for the 12th year in a row, making it one tough cookie to beat—not that other brands aren’t trying to beat it out.
In November, Toyota sold 30,386 Camrys, making the total amount of units sold in the year equal 378,520, a mere 44,163 more than the second ranked Honda Accord. This difference is significantly lower than the 71,035 unit lead that Camry had at this time last year, showing that it’s possible the Toyota Camry’s reign will come to an end sometime in the next few years.
Toyota’s Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president, isn’t worried though, stating during a conference call, “Showroom traffic surged over the holiday weekend for Toyota, indicating good momentum that we expect to continue through the end of the year and into 2014.”
