Toyota May Results Show a Camry Sold Every Minute
American drivers love their Camrys
How often do you see a Toyota Camry driving down the street? We bet pretty frequently. Americans love their Camrys, which was apparent in May when the sedan had an incredible month, with a Camry sold every minute. That amounts to nearly 50,000 Camrys sold in May alone, which was an increase of 26 percent over the previous period.
It’s no wonder the Camry is so popular in the America. Studies show that of the 10.3 million Camrys sold in the U.S. during the last 31 years, over 6.7 million are still on the road today. That’s more than 65 percent of Camrys sold since 1983! In recent months, the popular Camry earned a 5-star safety rating from the NHTSA, as well as a place on the “Best Midsize Car for the Money” list by U.S. News and World Report, and a spot on the “Most Popular” list by Edmunds.
Speaking about the Camry’s continued popularity, Bob Carter, vice president of automotive operations for Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc., said, ”There’s a reason Americans choose Camry, and it shows in sales month after month. It’s America’s best-selling car, but more important is the one Camry in the customer’s driveway. The one Camry that gets you and your family to work, school, vacation; the Camry that works in a business enterprise; the one Camry you trust to be reliable and help keep your family safe.”
And it doesn’t hurt that the Camry looks pretty nice in your driveway or on the road. With an extensively made-over version coming for 2015, we’re certain the Camry’s popularity will continue.
