Two small Buick SUVs are really big on safety, according to U.S. News & World Report, which just named the Encore and Envision to its list of the “20 Safest Small SUVs of 2019.”

“The NHTSA [National Highway Traffic Safety Administration] gave the 2019 Buick Encore four stars in the rollover tests and five stars in all other crash tests,” reports U.S. News writer Steven Loveday.
The 2019 Encore, which is available at four trim levels (Encore, Preferred, Sport Touring, and Essence), boasts 10 airbags, a StabiliTrak® stability control system, and LATCH System as standard features. Systems such as Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Alert, and Front and Rear Park Assist are available.
“The 2019 Buick Envision got five stars in the side crash tests and four stars in the frontal crash and rollover tests, for a five-star overall rating from the NHTSA. The IIHS [Insurance Institute for Highway Safety] gave the 2019 Envision a Good rating in all five crash tests and an Advanced rating for front crash prevention,” Loveday reports.

The 2019 Envision offers the Teen Driver system, which allows parental controls and monitors the driving behavior of young drivers, as a standard feature. Also standard on the Envision is a Tire Pressure Monitoring System and Tire Fill Alert. Available driver assist technologies include Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Safety Alert Seat, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Front and Rear Park Assist.
