The redesigned Hyundai Tucson has been receiving a lot of press attention recently–including a number of interesting new commercials–but what about the equally capable Santa Fe?
A new international ad from Hyundai showcases the many aspects of the 2016 Santa Fe that make it a safe vehicle…by putting it in an exceptionally dangerous situation. Following the recent trend of stunt-based ads from Hyundai (like the Tucson and its giant sand tunnels), this 1.5-minute video takes place in a construction site. But the Santa Fe doesn’t just stay on the ground–it begins on the op of a skyscraper and is carried through the air.
Watch This Santa Fe Maneuver Through a Ridiculously Dangerous Construction Site
Throughout the video above, the Santa Fe drives off the edge of a rooftop, is carried by a crane, snakes through suspended concrete pipes, and dodges heavy machinery. Surprisingly (or not, since this is just a commercial after all), it escapes unscathed.
It’s questionable how much of these stunts are merely CGI tricks, but the idea still draws attention to the convenience and safety features of the Korean SUV, including the large cargo capacity, panoramic sunroof, around-view monitor, and bending light headlamp system.
While not our favorite Hyundai commercial this year, this one does a respectable job simply promoting its product without needless distractions.
