Do you have any plans April 10th? If you love compact sedans, hatchbacks, and wagons—and, c’mon, who doesn’t fit that description—then you may want to clear your calendar so that you can properly bask in the glory that is the debut of the next-generation Ford Focus.
Ford released a teaser video earlier this week heralding the arrival of the 2019 Ford Focus. Make sure that you’re sitting down.
Coming Soon from Ford: 2019 Ford Ranger making long-awaited US return later this year
As you can see from watching the above video, the 2019 Ford Focus Hatchback retains the current-generation model’s tradition of, in order, having a grille and a Ford Blue Oval badge, having wheels and tires, having headlights, and having FOCUS badging on the hatch.
As Motor Authority notes, the presence of Michelin tires and ST-style wheels “suggest we might be looking at a version equipped with the ST-Line appearance package.” Which is, you know, great if you live in Europe. The same could be said of the Focus wagon, which is not likely to make the leap to the United States—though it would certainly be more than welcome.
It’s a reasonable assumption that the 2019 Ford Focus will be offered as a Focus ST performance model. A next-generation iteration of the Focus RS is expected eventually, with speculation being that it will offer more than 400 horsepower thanks to a mild hybrid powertrain. It could also be expected that the Focus will be offered with some alternative powertrain option, though it’s not confirmed whether that would be the continuation of the Focus Electric, the introduction of a plug-in hybrid model, or perhaps both.
All will be revealed this coming Tuesday at 11 am Eastern. If you want to catch the stream, you can set a reminder on YouTube through the video below:
