Marketing can be a tricky beast, but there’s one tried and true method that companies have used for decades: sponsoring a major or minor league sports venue. Subaru recently joined these proud ranks by announcing a partnership with the Philadelphia Union pro soccer team to name their home Subaru Park.

This deal marks the first time that Subaru has partnered with a major league team. But, true to form, it did so in a way that perfectly matches its values.

A park that gives back

As part of the Subaru Love Promise, the deal with the Union goes far beyond naming rights. The two organizations will work together to facilitate events that will benefit everyone in the Greater Philadelphia community.

In a press release, the automaker announced local programs to encourage youth participation in soccer, pet adoption events, an expanded focus on environmental sustainability, and fundraisers to combat pediatric cancer. As a thank you for supporting Subaru, the Philadelphia Union, and their combined philanthropic efforts, the fully-renovated parking lots will include 30 reserved, totally free spots exclusively for Subaru owners.

First-class updates

The partnership also includes some exciting updates to the park itself. First off, the stadium will receive a 3,440 square foot high dynamic range (HDR) video board, the first of its kind to be included in any soccer-specific Major League Sports venue. Around the 18,500-seat arena, you’ll enjoy upgraded LED ribbon screens and over 200 monitors.

If you’re a die-hard fan with West Side Field Seat, Field Table, Manager’s Row, or Presidential Row season tickets, you can enjoy the game in luxury from the VIP Tunnel Club. With this distinction, you can enjoy all-inclusive food and beverages, as well as the opportunity to go behind the scenes with the players over the course of the game.

Between remarkable charity work, innovative technology, and ways to take your viewing experience to the next level, the partnership between Subaru and the Philadelphia Union seems like a perfect match. If you’re a Subaru-owning soccer fan from the Philly area, consider checking out a game or two at Subaru Park this season.
