World Cup of Cars: Spain vs. Chile

In the wonderful world of soccer (sorry, football, that is [even though it’s really called soccer]) today, we’re gearing up for the Spain vs. Chile World Cup match. While it’s looking like Spain may have the upper hand on the field, is that necessarily so on the road? Let’s take a look.

Playing for Spain is the SEAT Leon, manufactured in the very country competing. The Leon is a family car, through and through. It’s got the hatchback body and the roomy interior that moderately sized families need, but it’s still got a sporty edge to it as well, with both petrol and diesel engines available. Oh, and did we mention that it’s laden with the latest and greatest technology including an advanced infotainment system and maintenance-free LED headlights?

The SsangYong Actyon (don’t ask us to pronounce it) may not be made in Chile, but it’s certainly popular there. The truck is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-charged diesel engine and is available in either a 4×2 or 4×4 configuration. Like the Leon, the Actyon has all the latest gadgets, including electric windows and mirrors, USB connectivity, Bluetooth phone connectivity with wireless music streaming, and a 2.3 tonne towing capacity. And just in case you find yourself in trouble, the Actyon comes with 3-year 24/7 roadside assistance.

So who takes home the gold in this match? It’s certainly just as tough to call as yesterday’s Brazil vs. Mexico matchup, but in the end, we’re going to have to say that the Actyon secures Chile a victory in this World Cup of Cars: Spain vs. Chile match.
