2016 Honda HR-V Pricing Revealed
Today it was announced that the 2016 Honda HR-V—the Japanese automaker’s first all-new model for the US market in years—will be priced under $20,000. The base LX model, equipped with six-speed manual transmission, has a starting MSRP of $19,115 (to get the LX with a more efficient continuously variable transmission will cost $19,915).
That affordability should endear the HR-V to the Millennial car buyers that Honda’s targeting with its new subcompact SUV.
The prices for all of the various HR-V trim levels are detailed in the chart below (although, for some strange reason, they still haven’t revealed how much the special “Selfie” Edition will cost).
Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, a push-button electric parking brake, a rearview camera with guidelines, Pandora radio, and BlueTooth.
The HR-V is powered by a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder 16-valve engine that produces a peak 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque. When equipped with the optional CVT, that powertrain manages a fuel economy slash line of 28/35/31 mpg in city, highway, and combined traffic.
The HR-V’s design features a unique center-mounted fuel tank layout that enables the use of one of Honda’s patented Magic Seats in the second row, which can fold completely flat into the floor for added cargo room. When the second row seats are folded down, the HR-V has 100.1 cubic feet of passenger space and 58.8 cu-ft of cargo volume (LX FWD).
