2013 Nissan Armada Nearly as Powerful as its Namesake
An armada is defined as a fleet of warships, which is an apt namesake for Nissan’s rugged SUV. If the 2013 Nissan Armada could not quite tow the entire fleet, the shipmen would have no trouble finding some room to sit, as the Armada is one of the most spacious SUVs on the road today.
The appeal of the Armada has always been its ability to deliver luxury comfort for at a non-luxury price. The full-size family SUV improves on that for the 2013 model year with the all-new Platinum Reserve Package, which includes 20-inch chrome wheels, premium leather seating, genuine wood trim and several other aesthetic and comfort enhancements.
“Armada has always offered the look and feel of a premium luxury SUV at a more affordable family SUV price,” said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan North America, in a press release. “The addition of the luxurious new Platinum Reserve Package adds an extra bit of shine to the already finely polished Armada lineup for 2013.”
Couple premium features like the dual 7-inch headrest-mounted DVD players with the performance of a 317 horsepower V8, and you get an SUV equipped to tackle just about anything. But are the elite features enough to keep the Armada afloat in a market shifting dramatically toward fuel economy?
