Sculpted lines and subtle curves create an appealing, aerodynamic profile that makes going green a lot easier. The sleekness of the Fusion Energi’s body allows for optimal performance out on the road, cutting through the air like a knife through butter. Add the stylish front façade with the available Active Grille Shutters, which help cut down on drag as well, and you’ve got yourself one great looking car.
2014 Ford Fusion Energi Performance
A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor fed by a lithium-ion battery pack powers the 2014 Fusion Energi, producing a healthy 195 horsepower. The battery back, which is larger than the standard Fusion Hybrid’s, enables the Energi to drive as fast as 85 mph or go as far as 21 miles purely on electric power. It also can be fully charged in seven hours with a 120-volt power source or 2.5 hours using a 240-volt source. This hybrid powertrain is able to go 0-60 in just under 8 seconds.
2014 Ford Fusion Energi Efficiency
With an all-electric range getting a gas-free 21 miles, you can expect a lot less stops at the gas pump. Once the gas-free miles are complete, the Energi gets an EPA-estimated 43 mpg.

Top-notch materials and a simple dashboard design come together to create a tastefully designed cabin that creates a classy atmosphere. All seats are extremely supportive and comfortable, making the Fusion Energi an easy choice for road trips. The rear seats are split-folding, allowing for optimal cargo space, which is much needed because of a trunk that’s a bit on the small side. The MyFord Touch system allows the driver to stay connected with a variety of controls, including steering wheel controls and Sync voice-control, while the dashboard alerts you when you’re in all-electric mode.
2014 Ford Fusion Energi Safety
The 2014 Fusion Energi received five out of five stars for overall crash protection in government crash tests, while the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the non-hybrid, but similar Fusion the highest possible rating of “Good” in its frontal-offset, side, and roof-strength crash tests. Standard safety features for the Energi include antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front seat side airbags, front knee airbags, and side curtain airbags. It also comes standard with the Ford Sync system, which includes an emergency crash notification feature, and Ford’s MyKey, which lets you control your teen driver’s driving parameters.
