2016 Volvo S60 Overview
The 2016 Volvo S60 is a stylish and sporty mid-size sedan that features a starting MSRP of $33,950. The S60 comes available with several engine options and all the advanced safety technology for which the Swedish automotive brand is so well known. This Volvo is laden with customizable options that allow customers to get the vehicle that’s perfect for them.
The 2016 Volvo S60 comes with either a T5 or T6 powertrain in three main trim levels: S60, R-Design, and Inscription. Owners can also choose between FWD and AWD drivetrains, as well as optional Premier and Platinum packages.
What’s New for the 2016 Volvo S60?
The Volvo S60 has remained relatively unchanged for the 2016 model year, but it did add an Inscription trim level that is slightly longer than the other trims, which allows for more cabin space in this already luxurious vehicle. The new Inscription trim also features contour leather seats and walnut inlays to add extra extravagance to the sedan.

2016 Volvo S60 Performance
There are four different engine options for the 2016 Volvo S60 depending on which trim level, powertrain, and drivetrain you select. There is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine good for 240 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, which comes with the T5 powertrain in both the base and Inscription trims. A 2.5-liter turbocharged inline five-cylinder engine capable of 250 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque comes with the AWD version of both the base and Inscription trims matched with the T5 powertrain. If you select the T5 FWD powertain, then you’ll receive the turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft or torque. Lastly, a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, able to pump out 325 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque, comes equipped in the R-Design trim with the T6 AWD powertrain.

2016 Volvo S60 Efficiency
The base model S60 with the T5 powertrain is good for 30 mpg combined, while the Inscription trim with the T5 powertain produces an EPA-estimated 29 mpg combined. Next up, the T6 powertain featuring the turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter four cylinder engine gets an EPA-estimated 27 mpg combined. Lastly, the R-Design trim with the T6 AWD powertrain and 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine produces an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 21 mpg combined.

2016 Volvo S60 Interior
The interior of the 2016 Volvo is designed to be both comfortable and entertaining. The Inscription trim features an extended wheelbase of three inches, which allows for more leg space. The S60 also features Volvo’s Sensus technology, which allows users to stream music, access a navigation system, and connect with Volvo On Call.
