2017 Ford Escape Titanium
The all-new 2017 Ford Escape will be a first in a number of senses. The new SUV will not only be the launching pad for the all-new SYNC Connect system, but it will become Ford’s first SUV in the United States to be offered with a windshield wiper de-icer.

This feature will be offered as part of a Cold Weather Package that will be optional on the Escape SE and standard with the Escape Titanium. The Cold Weather Package will also add heated side mirrors and seats, a supplemental powertrain conditioning heater, and all-weather floor mats. The creature comfort won’t likely come in handy too much at the time of its spring 2016 launch, but it will be an invaluable tool in the fight against winter weather in the later months of the year and early part of 2017—and beyond.
“The windshield wiper de-icer is a great solution to one of the more nagging problems of winter,” said Jennifer Gauthier, Ford fixed glass engineer. “Escape drivers in the U.S. are going to wonder how they ever got along without it.”

According to Ford, the system includes a local heating element at the base of the windshield that is capable of clearing light snow and ice from windshield wipers in 10 minutes or less even at temperatures of -18 degrees Fahrenheit.
The windshield wiper de-icer will interact seamlessly with the Escape’s other new feature, as drivers will be able to control the system through SYNC Connect. The 2017 Escape will also be offered with a Sports Appearance Package.
