2017 Lexus IS Takes a Bow In China
The Lexus IS is an iconic member of the Lexus family, taking center stage in last year’s “December to Remember” sales event promotional videos and the accompanying store window at Barneys New York. The sad fact about this vehicle, though, is that it has not seen a refresh since 2013. Four model years is a big deal in the automotive world, with how fast technology moves. To help keep the popular model current, Lexus used China’s biggest auto show in Beijing to debut its latest generation of the Lexus IS, set for the 2017 model year.
Check out the new Lexus IS in action below.
Lexus is of the mind that the Lexus IS’s shape is very iconic, so while the front fascia of the car has been completely updated, its essential shape is still the same. The front of the car has gained a resculpted grille, a front bumper with air intake openings, and new headlights. On the inside of the 2017 Lexus IS the most noticeable difference is a larger infotainment system screen, and the interior colors have slightly changed.
Shoppers will be happy to know that the Lexus IS will maintain its three engine choices, but the safety systems have been given a major upgrade. The Lexus Safety System + brings together Automatic High Beam lights, a Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, and Radar Cruise Control to ensure that drivers and passengers are protected while on the road.
Lexus has not yet released when the 2017 model year will arrive in dealership showrooms, but as soon as more details are released we will keep you informed.
