What’s New for the 2018 Ford Mustang?
The Mustang is rolling into 2018 new and improved. While its exterior is iconic, it received a few upgrades including three additional colors (Orange Fury, Kona Blue, and Royal Crimson) and updated front and rear designs. The grille was tweaked to give it a more aggressive look while improving aerodynamics and functionality.
This year’s Mustang is the first to include Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission. Ford has dropped the base V6 engine on the Mustang, replacing it with an EcoBoost four-cylinder. The GT powertrain received an upgrade for 2018; while last year’s model offered a similar V8, the new one produces 460 horsepower, compared to last year’s 435-horsepower V8. However, the new Mustang comes with the industry-first Quiet Start mode so you can start your engine without disturbing sleeping neighbors.

2018 Ford Mustang Interior
Of course, the cabin of the Mustang is built to match its tough exterior – but most of its luxury materials are saved for the upper Shelby models. The Shelby GT350 comes with RECARO cloth and Miko suede sport seats and an Alcantara leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Shelby GT350R upgrades its materials by adding red accent trim to the cabin.
