A classic mid-size sedan, the 2018 Subaru Legacy is bringing a new, sportier style to the 2018 lineup. This year’s model was first introduced at the Chicago Auto Show, and crowds were buzzing about its new design.

The 2018 Subaru Legacy is available in five trims: 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Sport, 2.5i Limited, and 3.6R Limited.

What’s New for the 2018 Subaru Legacy?

True to its name, this mid-size sedan has left a legacy in its wake. First and foremost, the front and rear of the vehicle’s structure have been restyled to create a sporty, lightweight look. The interior has been upgraded, adding multimedia systems and luxurious seating materials. To top it all off, the 2018 Legacy offers an available steering responsive LED headlight system for improved visibility.

As a mid-size sedan, the Subaru Legacy offers excellent maneuverability on the roadways. To increase visibility, the 2018 model comes with automatic on/off, wiper-linked, projector-beam halogen headlights. Plus, the new model comes with a sportier, more athletic stance thanks to its redesigned front and rear styling.

2018 Subaru Legacy Performance

The standard engine on the 2018 Subaru Legacy is a 2.5-liter DOHC engine; it is paired to a Lineartronic^® Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and gives off 175 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. This engine is standard across all 2.5-named trims. The range-topping trim, the 3.6R Limited, comes standard with a 3.6-liter DOHC engine paired to the same Lineartronic^® CVT. Together the upgraded powertrain produces 256 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque.

The 2018 Subaru Legacy’s baseline 2.5-liter engine earns an impressive 25 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. If you opt for the upgraded 3.6-liter, your fuel economy will drop to a respectable 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

2018 Subaru Legacy Interior

From luxury seating to impressive technology, the 2018 Subaru Legacy’s cabin is decked to the nines. On the 2.5i Limited, consumers can experience the all-encompassing comfort of the Legacy’s leather-trimmed upholstery, complemented by heated front and rear seats on the All-Weather package. For technology, the base trim comes with a STARLINK 6.5-inch Multimedia system, equipped with four speakers. If you’d like to upgrade that system, higher trim levels offer up to an 8-inch screen with added navigation, plus a Harman Kardon premium audio system with six speakers.
