What’s new for 2019?

2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LD

The Chevy Silverado is all-new for 2019, celebrating 100 years of Chevy trucks. Its body is made of a higher-grade alloy in order to reduce the vehicle’s weight while its roll-formed, high-strength steel box offers unbeatable durability and strength. It received a bit of a face lift, as well, with a new and distinguishing front grille.

Exterior

The Silverado has always had a rugged, dominating exterior fit for its strong capabilities. The 2019 Silverado 1500 LD stands tall with a front ground clearance of 8.87 inches. Plus, this pickup makes it easy to load and unload cargo with a CornerStep rear bumper and an EZ-Lift and Lower tailgate.

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LD is available in eight exterior colors: Graphite Metallic, Havana Metallic, Red Hot, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Deep Ocean Blue Metallic, Black, and Cajun Red Tintcoat.

Performance

Across all three of its trims, the new Silverado 1500 LD comes with a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine. The engine is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, making for an impressive output of 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The lower two trims — the WT and LT — are each offered in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations, while the LT Z71 is exclusively available in 4WD. When properly equipped, the 2019 Silverado 1500 LD can tow up to 9,400 pounds.

Efficiency

While the Silverado 1500 LD isn’t the most efficient vehicle on the road, it definitely holds its own in the pickup segment. When equipped with two-wheel drive, the Silverado 1500 LD earns an estimated 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. If you decide to opt for all-wheel drive, the truck’s efficiency on the highway will decrease by 1 mpg.

Interior

The cabin of the Silverado 1500 LD can fit up to six passengers, with three in the front row and three in the second row. The interior has fun tech features incorporated throughout the cabin, including a standard six-speaker audio system with Bluetooth and a Chevrolet Infotainment System with a 7-inch diagonal color touch screen. The LT trim offers added infotainment features including SiriusXM Satellite Radio, HD Radio, and a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

Safety

Teen Driver, a feature exclusive to GM vehicles, makes it even easier for you to teach your teen how to drive. Not only can you set restrictions when your teen is behind the wheel — such as volume limits and seat belt requirements — but you’ll also get a full report card of his or her progress (even if you’re not in the car with them).
