The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE will soon be offered with a new 10-speed automatic transmission.

With its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, the Camaro ZL1 1LE is designed to tear up the track. This available transmission will equip it for even more thrilling performance.

According to Chevrolet, the automatic-equipped ZL1 1LE cut half a second from the manual model’s lap time at General Motors’ 2.9-mile Milford Road Course.

“This transmission is optimized for speed,” said Camaro Chief Engineer Mark Dickens. “With unique Track Mode calibrations and 10 gears, you are always in the perfect gear when rolling on or off the throttle. You may not be a professional race car driver, but now you can shift like one.”

The new 10-speed automatic transmission is equipped with paddle shifters to give the driver an extra degree of control while channeling the ZL1 1LE’s mighty 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.

As an available addition to the 1LE Track Performance Package, the transmission is specially calibrated to work with the car’s electronic limited slip differential, performance traction management system, and tuned front and rear dampers. It features a new transmission oil pan, and an extra steering-gear cooling duct.

The rest of the 1LE package includes aerodynamic components that increase downforce on curves, an adjustable suspension, forged aluminum wheels, Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires, and a more lightweight design.

The 1LE Track Performance Package costs an extra $7,500 on top of the ZL1 1LE’s $62,995 MSRP. The new transmission adds another $1,595 to the price.
