What’s New on the 2019 Hyundai Accent?
For the most part, the 2019 Accent carries over from the previous model year. Among the handful of changes offered: a chrome grille is now standard on the base SE trim, fog lights and chrome beltline molding are newly standard on the SEL trim, and LED headlights are now offered on the Limited trim.
Performance and Efficiency
The 2019 Accent keeps it simple with a single powertrain: a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 130 horsepower and 119 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission on the SE trim and a 6-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic on the SEL and Limited trims. The Accent performs at a highly efficient level, achieving 28 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway with the manual transmission. The automatic gets identical city mileage and bumps highway fuel economy up to 38 mpg.

Exterior Features
For an array of helpful exterior features, check out the 2019 Accent’s Limited trim. Its offerings include heated mirrors, a power tilt-and-slide sunroof, and 17-inch alloy wheels. This trim also comes with LED headlights, taillights, and Daytime Running Lights for superior visibility on the road. Despite the Accent’s subcompact size, all trims offer a generous 13.7 cubic feet of cargo space — plenty of room for luggage, sports equipment, or groceries.
Interior Features
The 2019 Accent comes standard with cloth seats, a 5-inch color touch screen, Bluetooth hands-free phone tech, USB and auxiliary inputs, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. The SEL trim increases the touch screen’s size to 7 inches and adds dual USB charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and voice recognition. The top Limited trim increases cabin comfort and convenience with heated front seats, automatic temperature control, and push-button start.
Safety Tech
All 2019 Accent trims come with safety basics like Vehicle Stability Management and Electronic Stability Control, anti-lock brakes, a rearview camera, and an advanced air-bag system. When equipped with available Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and LED headlights, the Accent qualifies as an IIHS Top Safety Pick for 2019.
