The 2020 Hyundai Veloster N boasts a new dual-clutch transmission that combines old-school manual feel with modern automatic ease of use.

The N eight-speed DCT delivers an array of new features intended to make driving the 2020 Veloster N more fun. Its “wet” design uses oil to keep the transmission cool and lubricated for more thrilling travel. Electronic actuators increase comfort and efficiency.

The N Grin Shift setting boosts torque and responsiveness in 20-second bursts. N Power Shift kicks in during high-throttle acceleration to maximize available power and torque. N Track Sense Shift adjusts the transmission’s shift timing in high-performance situations.

The Veloster N also incorporates rev matching and launch control to heighten performance, and it’s set up to detect driving styles and road conditions to (safely) wring the maximum amount of enjoyment from every trip.

“Veloster N demonstrates Hyundai’s approach to high-performance cars. By equipping Veloster N with N DCT, drivers get performance and convenience at the same time,” said Thomas Schemera, the head of Hyundai Motor’s product division. “Anyone who wants a fun driving experience will jump at the chance to pilot the new Veloster N — an everyday sports car with racetrack capabilities.”

To supplement its revved-up performance capabilities, the Veloster N is available with new N Light Sports Bucket Seats for 2020. These seats feature a lightweight build, firm support for high-speed cornering, and comfortable Alcantara upholstery. The upper backrests are emblazoned with an illuminated N logo.

Fun doesn’t come at the expense of safety in the new Veloster N. The car comes with technologies like Front Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning to maximize drivers’ peace of mind.

According to Hyundai, the 2020 Veloster N will go on sale in South Korea this month before eventually rolling out for customers around the world.
