2019 Subaru Ascent

In addition to hot weather, summer will welcome the latest three-row Subaru SUV to dealership lots across the country.

The 2020 Subaru Ascent MSRP starts at last year’s price of $31,995 and will give consumers a choice between models that seat seven or eight people. Its second row includes either captain chairs or an available bench.

Consumers can expect EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and X-Mode across the base, Premium, Limited, and Touring trim levels in the Ascent lineup.

Turbocharged engine power

Standard on all trim levels of the Subaru Ascent is the 2.4-liter turbocharged BOXER engine. It lashes out 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.

This engine comes with a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission with an 8-speed manual mode control. This involves paddle shifters on the steering wheel and X-Mode with Hill Descent Control.

Roomy storage space

The versatile Ascent offers nine different seating arrangements along with two rows that fold flat in 60/40 configurations. With these seats folded, the cabin boasts 86.5 cubic feet of cargo space.

On the outside, owners can transport kayaks, bicycles and other equipment above the vehicle with its standard roof rails.

Safety measures

New for this year’s Ascent is Rear Seat Reminder. This system notifies a driver to check the backseat for a pet or child before exiting the vehicle.

The ever-popular EyeSight Driver Assist Technology returns with Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Automatic Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, and EyeSight Assist Monitor.

Other available safety options include High Beam Assist, Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Reverse Automatic Braking.
