New Year’s Eve Night Hike
Release some endorphins while enjoying some fresh air when you and your family participate in the New Year’s Eve Night Hike in Austin. Explore McKinney Falls State Park from 7-8 p.m. on Dec. 31 while making new friends. Check out the Texas Parks & Wildlife website to pre-register for this event and secure a day pass ahead of time.
Austin’s New Year
Another family-friendly celebration, Austin’s New Year held at Auditorium Shores is a festive way to kick off 2020. With free admission and a no-alcohol policy, you and your children can take in live performances from jugglers, fire dancers, and storytellers from four different stages. Music and a fireworks display round out the event.

Gatsby’s House Houston New Year’s Eve
The Omni Houston Hotel hosts its annual New Year’s Eve Party. This year’s theme is “Gatsby’s House,” a lavish occasion replete with hors d’oeuvres, lighting and sound systems, and party favors. DJs will provide musical selections from the Top 40 and other genres, to keep the energy going throughout the night.
Reunion Tower Over the Top NYE
Witness a 360-degree panoramic fireworks display when you hit up Reunion Tower’s annual New Year’s event. The display will feature 4,000 pyrotechnic special effects set against the Dallas skyline. The fireworks will launch 560 feet above the ground, so it’s easy to see if from a variety of locations near downtown. Check out the website closer to the event date for suggested viewing locations, since the tower and lawn are not open for watching the fireworks.
