The 27th grant cycle of the Nissan Foundation will result in a total of $740,000 parsed out to 30 nonprofit organizations in the metro areas of Atlanta and New York as well as groups in Eastern Michigan, Central Mississippi, Middle Tennessee, North Central Texas, and Southern California.

The Foundation’s financial support of nonprofits that promote cultural diversity has reached a staggering $11.5 million dollars, and approximately 150 organizations have received grants from the Nissan Foundation over the years.
“The Nissan Foundation is proud to support local nonprofit partners developing innovative and culturally diverse programs in communities where Nissan operates,” said Nissan Foundation President Scott Becker, who is also senior vice president, Administration, Nissan North America, Inc. “We are excited to recognize our 2019 grantees for promoting the importance of racial equality and cultural diversity.”
In Atlanta, the nonprofit recipients are: Atlanta Historical Society, Fernbank, Inc., and the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
In New York, the nonprofit recipients are: Brooklyn Historical Society, Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding, Jewish Children’s Museum, One of World, Inc., and the Jewish Museum.
In Michigan, the nonprofit recipients are: Arab American National Museum, The Community House, Detroit Educational Television Foundation, Interfaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit, and the Holocaust Memorial Center, Zekelman Family Campus.
In Mississippi, the nonprofit recipients are: Jobs for Mississippi Graduates and the Cleveland Music Foundation/GRAMMY Museum.
In Tennessee, the nonprofit recipients are: Children’s Museum Corporation of Rutherford County, Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition, Global Education Center, STARS Nashville, Nashville Public Library Foundation, Oasis Center, Nashville Public Television, and the Native American Indian Association of Tennessee.
In Texas, the nonprofit recipient is the National Multicultural Western Heritage Museum.
In Southern California, the nonprofit recipients are: The Autry Museum of the American West, Connecting Cultures Mobile Museum, Western Justice Center Foundation, San Diego Museum of Man, Japanese American National Museum, and San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum.
