The National Corvette Museum is among the many institutions around the country that have closed to the public amid the growing COVID-19 pandemic.
Located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the museum shut its doors last week, citing an executive order by state Gov. Andy Beshear. All its events through early May have been postponed or rescheduled.
“Our top priority is the health and safety of our visitors, volunteer, staff, their families and our community,” the museum posted on its Facebook page. “While there have been no known cases of COVID-19 at the Museum or in our community, the decision is based on guidelines from the CDC and public health officials attempting to slow the spread of COVID-19.”
Will the museum be open for visitors again any time soon? Don’t count on it.

“We will continue to monitor guidance from local, state and national officials and will announce a reopen date once it is known,” the museum stated in its Facebook post.
The museum did note that new Corvette owners would still be able to pick up their cars through the R8C Museum Delivery program.
The museum’s physical location may not be open, but staff members are ramping up online efforts to make up for it. Each weekday morning, the museum is posting live “Vettecademy” educational videos for families and kids on its YouTube Channel and Facebook page.
According to the museum, fans and would-be visitors can still provide support by heading online to buy memberships, merchandise, and future admission tickets. Based next to the General Motors Bowling Green Assembly plant that builds the Chevrolet Corvette, the National Corvette Museum draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
