Opel Crossland X Sales Surpass 50,000 Vehicles as Deliveries Begin
Crossovers are current cup of tea in the auto industry, so it cannot come as any great surprise when a hot new product explodes out of the gate with a bunch of sales. Though its success may not be terribly shocking, the fact that the Opel Crossland X has already secured more than 50,000 orders since being put up for sale in March is nonetheless impressive to consider.
“We are very excited about the demand for the new Opel Crossland X. Our new crossover has style, functionality and a spacious interior within a compact overall footprint,” said Opel Managing Director, Sales and Aftersales, Peter Küspert. “Also, the orders for the innovative technologies and options provide further confirmation of our philosophy of making trendsetting systems and features available to a wide audience.”
Despite only recently hitting dealerships a few short weeks ago, the new Opel Crossland X has also proved every bit as successful from a critical perspective as it has from a commercial standpoint. Thus far, seven automotive publications across Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and Poland have compared the Crossland X to competitor vehicles; in six instances, the Crossland X came out victorious.
Opel notes a number of trends that have emerged through the first 50,000 orders; namely, the fact that the Innovation trim has emerged as the most popular variant, and that the bulk of those vehicles were equipped with a contrast-colored roof. Nearly half of all orders placed for the Crossland X have included the Rear View Camera or Panoramic Rear View Camera, and about 40% of all orders come equipped with Front and Rear Park Assist.
